Hello all. For my first post on my new blog I have identified the most predictable picks of the draft. They aren't the best moves of the draft, they are just the "of course he picked him" moves of the draft. These moves are sometimes made because of team loyalty, other times they are because of a man crush. I will try to analyze the reason for these predictable picks.
Leafs Haters (Kevin)
This guy is not very predictable which has led to his success in the draft, but in the 9th round a groan was heard when Cam Barker was selected for the 2nd time by Kevin. Rumor has it that Kevin had mono as a kid and feels empathy for Barker's plight at the 2006 World Juniors, but I would put my money on Kevin recognizing that this kid can play and Chicago is an improving team.
GD Bruins (Mike)
This GM has team loyalty (he even named his GDHL team after them), but a shrewd plant of a rival GM's plan to pick Glen Murray had Mike scurrying to pick his man. I think there is a bit more than team loyalty going on with Murray as "interviewing" players for your blog takes either a big man crush or a vivid imagination.
Sather's Eyes (Victor)
This GM has done a good job of picking the best player available and avoiding falling into the trap of redrafting his players. This year, however, he has shown his soft spot to be Brendan Morrison. This blogger has heard GM Khoo talk about Morrison's skill level, but understands that this means Morrison is a wus.
One Eyebrow (Ihor)
This GM is brutal at redrafting his players. This year he has re-selected Bouchard, Dumont, Recchi, Avery, and Horcoff. My pick for his most predictable move on this team is the Horcoff pick. I think that his admiration for Horcoff's Dukabor unibrow that has him picking Horcoff.
Boomers (Paul)
This GM is quite predictable with his love for the Habs. While no one saw Price going quite so early, the selection of Koivu was quite predictable. Mark this one up to poor judgement based on 1950's dynasties.
Flyin' Elbows (Mark)
This GM wears his heart on his sleeve when it comes to his favorite team. The selection of Roloson surprised no one! I think that his admiration of Roloson is not based on Roloson's play, but rather on Roloson's Neard (Neck Beard) from the 2006 playoffs.
GGopher (Jordan)
This GM has changed his team extensively at this year's draft, however, his Kings love is quite evident. Jordan's selection of Brown in the 10th round surprised no one (especially the half dozen people he told before the pick was made). They say that every team is a Stanely Cup contender before the season starts. Chalk this pick up to that thinking.
Shamrocks (Trevor)
Trevor has been fairly unpredictable in his picking to date. I am confident that the two players he plucked off of my pick list were purely coincidence ;-). Trevor's most predictable pick has to be his love for Reinprecht. This blogger's explanation for selecting Reinprecht in back to back years must be Trevor's love for everything Edmonton, and Edmonton being Reinprecht's home town.
Ryan (Ryan)
This GM has been relatively difficult to predict with his off the board picks of Samsonov and Ribeiro and his surprise pick of Latendresse. His only predictable moment was his selection (again) of Frank Kaberle. This blogger has to assume that Ryan has the Kaberle brothers confused.
Sith (JW)
This GM has done a good job of avoiding players he selected last year (a good strategy when you finish near the bottom). Likely his most predictable pick was the selection of Sellane in the 2nd round. I have selected this as his most predictable pick because of his telegraph of this selection by picking another long shot to start the season (Forsberg) in the first round. This blogger expects that the selection made by this GM was because of his insider knowledge that hockey trainers have come up with a cure for old.
Whalers (Adam)
This GM's predictable pick was not in fact his pick. After completing an illegal trade with Leafs Hater!, this GM telegraphed his pick by broadcasting his selection. After the broadcast selection, he worked out a trade. After the trade (surprise) Michalek was selected. This blogger blames the predictable pick on lack of sleep.
Ken (Ken)
This GM has done a good job of rebuilding his team this draft. He was rather unpredictable until the 10th round when he selected Garry Roberts. This blogger has heard that Garry Roberts older sister (Bubba) was Ken's baby sitter when growing up in North York. This story could not be confirmed.
Over all, nice job GMs of being so predictable. Here's hoping that you remain this predictable throughout the season.

Good first post Eyebrow! You must admit though I tried to pick with my head this year and not my heart - I only drafted one Bruin (so far) :-) and not until the 4th round.
nice job buddy... and I agree with you... Morrison is a wus.
